Good value with annual plan

I was looking for something to help me focus while studying and decided to try Brain.fm. I went with the annual subscription because it offered a much better price than the monthly. The 7-day free trial let me test it out before committing, which was great. For the cost, I think it's definitely worth it. I've been using the focus music for studying, and it's made a noticeable difference.

Helped me sleep better

So I grabbed a subscription for Brain.fm a little while ago. I mostly use it for the wind down audio and nighttime sleep sounds. I've always had trouble falling asleep, but this stuff actually helps. It's pretty chill and not like, distracting. Just puts me in a good mood to sleep. Super easy to use too, just hit play on the app. Liked it!

Effective for deep work sessions

I subscribed to the annual plan after the free trial primarily for deep work audio. The onboarding was smooth; I signed up on their website and immediately accessed the desktop player. I did have a minor issue with the mobile app initially where it wouldn't sync my custom timer settings, but a quick reinstallation fixed it. The neural effect intensity control is a great feature, allowing me to adjust based on my needs. Delivery, in terms of service access, was instant. The quality of the audio is consistently good, and I found the Cinematic focus music particularly helpful for extended coding sessions. It's not a miracle cure, but it definitely aids in getting into a focused state. Support was responsive when I inquired about the mobile app glitch, even though I resolved it myself.

Yeah they do! Last I checked it was a 7-day trial. You can usually find the link right on their homepage.

Totally, they almost always have some kind of free trial, sometimes even 14 days if you hit a special referral link. Worth it to test drive it for sure.

does brain.fm actually work? or is it just another placebo thing?

B Brett 3 months ago
For me, it definitely works. I use it for coding and I get way less distracted. They also claim it's scientifically backed, but I just know it helps me personally.

I was skeptical but it really does make a difference for focus, especially the deep work ones. Not placebo in my experience.

Is it possible to use brain.fm without an internet connection? My office wifi is super spotty sometimes.

K Kevin 2 months ago
Yep, they have an offline mode for their mobile app. You just download the tracks beforehand.

Yeah, I use it offline on my phone all the time for plane rides. Just make sure you grab the tracks you want when you have wifi.

I saw something about a lifetime membership once, is that still a thing or was it just a limited time offer?

R Rachel W. 3 months ago
They did have a lifetime deal ages ago, during like a crowdfunding campaign or something? I haven't seen it pop up again in a long time. It's usually just annual subscriptions now.

I think those lifetime deals are super rare now, probably a Black Friday thing from years back. Don't count on seeing it again, sadly.

Anyone know if brain.fm is good for ADHD? Like, does it actually help you buckle down and work or just kinda tune out?

M Mark V. 3 months ago
I have ADHD and honestly it helps me a lot with deep work. It's not a magic cure but it definitely helps filter out distractions and keep me on task. The ADHD specific focus music is pretty good.

My buddy with ADHD swears by it for studying. Says it's way better than just regular lofi beats for getting into flow state.
